Pavement Engineering, Not Cosmetic Cover-Ups

Asphalt fails prematurely when drainage is poor, roadbase is undercompacted, or the mix is wrong for the traffic load. At National Road Surfacing, we assess the pavement structure, correct cross-falls, select the right Australian Standard asphalt mix, and compact every layer to target density — so your surface performs reliably for years.

Based at 12 Sixth Avenue, Campsie, NSW 2194, Australia, we work directly with commercial facility managers, industrial operators, civil contractors, strata committees and property owners throughout Sydney.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between asphalt surfacing and bitumen spray sealing?+

Hot mix asphalt is a plant-mixed, machine-laid wearing course ideal for roads, car parks and driveways. Bitumen spray sealing sprays liquid bitumen onto a compacted base and rolls stone aggregate into it — typically 35%–50% more economical for long rural driveways and low-speed access roads. See our full comparison guide.

How much does asphalt surfacing or car park resurfacing cost per m² in Sydney?+

Straightforward asphalt overlays and driveways typically range from $45–$65/m² (+GST), two-coat bitumen spray sealing from $25–$45/m² (+GST), and heavy-duty commercial/industrial construction from $85–$120+/m² (+GST) depending on access, base condition and tonnage. We provide a free on-site inspection and fixed written quote.

How soon can vehicles drive on newly laid asphalt?+

Unlike concrete, which needs 7–28 days to cure, hot mix asphalt cools quickly. Light vehicles can generally use a new driveway within 24 hours, and heavy commercial trucks within 24–48 hours depending on temperature and thickness.

Can you resurface a commercial car park or industrial yard on weekends or after hours?+

Yes — we regularly plan car park, school, strata and industrial works in staged zones or across weekend and night shifts to minimise operational downtime.

How do I know if my pavement needs resurfacing or full reconstruction?+

If the roadbase is sound and defects are limited to surface oxidation or minor cracking, cold milling and resurfacing (mill and fill) can restore the surface for 15–20+ years. Deep rutting, widespread fatigue cracking or water pumping from the base usually calls for full-depth patching or reconstruction first.
